It is reported that MateuszSkalon, a researcher from the Institute of Materials Science at the Technical University of Graz (TU Graz) in Austria, has developed a new type of 3D printing stainless steel powder. According to the calculation model given, it can reduce the production cost of up to 114 euros per kilogram of powder.

Among them, the purity, granularity, uniformity, spheroidization, and oxygen content of metal materials have a more significant impact on the performance of printed products. The metal powder materials currently used mainly include titanium alloys, cobalt-chromium alloys, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys. Due to the high technical barriers and production difficulties of metal powder materials, the market output is insufficient.
